TAMWORTH
Dear Tamworth Breeders:
Welcome to our family! We are so excited to have you under our swine umbrella and look forward to getting to know you and help you in any way we can. This letter is to help you understand how our Associations work, so that you will have less questions when it comes to recording litters and transferring animals.
We want to let you know that you will have the ability to record litters online now by going to purebredpedigrees.com and signing up for a password. It’s a very simple process and will ensure your litters get recorded usually same day. Any breeding certificates for online litters will need to be submitted online by the boar stud and they are already aware of how to do this. We encourage you to try this as it will speed up the time between submitting your litters and getting them back to you. You cannot transfer pedigrees on line unless you record litters with litter certificates. This is where all the pedigree numbers come out on one sheet instead of getting individual pedigrees. If you do get individual pedigrees, we require that the pedigree be sent to our office to be transferred at the P.O. Box 9758, Peoria, Illinois 61612 address. For those of you with the old Tamworth pedigrees, just turn them over, write the name and address of the person who bought it and the sale date and send to us with the payment. Also, you will need to print off the order form at cpsswine.com under “Member Tools”, fill it out and send with the transfer. This order form is required anytime you send work to our office.
If you want to record litters by mail, again just go to cpsswine.com and under “Member Tools”, print off the litter registration form and the order form, fill these both out and send to our office with the payment. We take cash, check, or credit card. Make checks out to CPS.
All work must be accompanied with the payment. If there is no payment, we will make an effort to get ahold of you but if we can’t, your work will be sent back to you.
We do not require you to be a member in order to record, but when you print off the order form, you will see the difference in prices for member and non-member rates. If you’d like to be a senior member, the first year, you need to pay both the $25 senior membership fee and the $75 maintenance fee. Then; every year after, you need to pay the $75 maintenance fee to keep your membership active; Our year runs from October 1 to September 30. Junior members need to only join once and they are good until they turn 22.
As of March 1, 2026, all boars used to record a litter will need to have a DNA blotter card on file in our office to record the litter. You can order these DNA blotter cards on the order
form. Please order as many as you need and get this done before you submit litters in March.
Also, if you need to find a registration number, you can now go to purebredpedigrees.com and do a search under the name of the owner of that animal. This may help you when recording litters.
Lastly, any transfers, litters, corrections, or duplicates that are emailed to us cost an additional $25 per pedigree for transfers, corrections and duplicates and an extra $25 per litter. This will automatically be charged to your account when work is emailed to us.
It seems to us that most Tamworth breeders have a few owner numbers for each person and we are trying to merge these so that you only have one owner number. If you need to find out your owner number, please feel free to call us and we will be able to get that for you.
We are here to help you in any way we can and we can be reached at 309-691-0151. Please call with any questions. And again, welcome to our Association. We look forward to getting to know you and helping you adjust to this new system.
Sincerely
Roy Flach, CPS CEO
